ibro kemali school in neuroscience 2015
Aims and Scope
IBRO-Kemali School provides top-level education in neuroscience and reinforces the network of collaboration and friendship among young promising neuroscientists coming from all the countries of the Mediterranean basin.
Description and Content
The 2015 IBRO-Kemali School in Neuroscience will be held at the Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry (ICB) under the auspices of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). The School will blend long-held conceptual milestones that provided molecular fundaments for (endo)cannabinoid and synaptic plasticity research with the newest, ground-breaking results in this field. Besides capturing the physiological roles of (endo)cannabinoids in metabolism and synapse development and physiology, the School will present key insights in synaptic plasticity and human brain function/disease states, also in view of the widespread recreational abuse as well as the medicinal use of cannabinoid-based preparations.
Significantly, this topical IBRO-Kemali School will feature lectures from renown investigators also outside the (endo)cannabinoid field, in order to promote interdisciplinary interactions in the collegial atmosphere of the School.
Individual hands-on training and tutorial will be offered to the Students in using:
-
ALLEN BRAIN ATLAS resources for the brain Atlas of the gene expression and brain development.
-
LEICA super resolution STORM microscopy applied on advanced imaging of cell and brain.
-
Training in Laboratory’s activity by exploiting the instrumental equipment of the headquarters of the School at the Institute of Biomolecular Chemistry of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche.
